PRESIDENT

Adam has spent over 20 years serving youth in the community of Southwest Washington. He started off working at after-school and summer programs with the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Vancouver. He would also spend his summers working at a youth camp called Camp Opportunity, which served at-risk youth, at which he also served on their board. He was an LGBTQ+ Outreach Coordinator for a spiritual organization called People of the Heart. Over the years, he has also been part of programs with the Children's Home Society, first Parent Trust, and more recently, Triple Point, which serves LGBTQ+ youth. Adam believes it is important to create safe places for LGBTQ+ youth to be themselves and connect with similar youth.

VICE PRESIDENT

Stella grew up in New York City where she attended Columbia University for creative writing and literature. Stella’s passion for advocacy started in the early 80’s when she volunteered with groups supporting the ERA. In the early 90’s, Stella moved to California and continued her volunteering, working on Obama’s 2008 campaign. Stella and her husband moved to Vancouver WA in 2014 to be close to family. She has been volunteering with Triple Point since 2018 and believes in lifting up youth in the LGBTQ+ community and providing support in any way possible.

SECRETARY

Nathan has been active in Vancouver’s LGBTQ+ community since 2015 and a part of QYRC’s board since 2019. They graduated with a bachelor’s in anthropology from Washington State University in 2023 after transferring from Clark College. He has spoken with multiple organizations on the needs of the queer, especially transgender, community, such as YWCA Clark County, PFLAG SW Washington, and Clark College. They strive to constantly learn more about how to better support queer communities, especially those underrepresented in queer spaces. He hopes to someday not just reach equality, but the normalization of the experiences of all kinds of people.

TREASURER

Terah is a passionate community activist and progressive business leader driven by the vision to create an inclusive future for LGBTQIA+ youth. She brings to our Board her experience leading political action committees, campaigns, and party organizations. As an organizer, Terah has spent the past 15 years advocating for the adoption of clean energy initiatives, patients’ safe access to entheogenic medicine, and uplifting the queer community in the PNW. After studying at Clark College, Terah transferred to Warner Pacific College where she received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration with focus in Organizational Leadership. Terah is the Director of Operations for Landrace Brands, one of the first legal cannabis businesses in the world. She and her wife, Samantha live in Vancouver with their two kiddos.

Mike received his Associate’s Degree in Vancouver at Clark College, then went on to Western Washington University, where he earned a degree in Communications and Sociology. While there, he assisted in the passing of a Green Energy Fee and co-managed a $2.3 million budget as the Associated Students’ Vice President for Student Life. After returning to Vancouver, where he currently resides, Pond began working on local campaigns to help transform leadership at the city of Vancouver, Clark County, the state legislature, and the 3rd Congressional district. Mike currently works as a marketing specialist for ADCO Commercial Printing & Graphics. Over the last seven years, Mike has supported several important community initiatives, including affordable housing, local school district bonds and levies, and clean industries at the Port of Vancouver. A 2015 graduate of Leadership Clark County, 2017 nominee for the George C. Marshall Public Leadership Award, and Board Member for the Queer Youth Resource Center, Mike demonstrates consistent community engagement.

Randy has a master’s degree in psychological counseling from Antioch University. He worked as a mental health therapist in Vancouver and Cape Cod, Massachusetts, before moving to Vancouver 13 years ago. His work history includes working at a youth shelter, in juvenile justice, as an EMT and County Ambulance Service manager, as a program analyst for the Alaska Department of Labor, and as an innkeeper with his husband in Massachusetts and Vermont. His volunteer service includes being elected to serve on a town’s Board of Health and spending three years as the board chair. He was also elected to represent Cape Cod and the Island on the Massachusetts Democratic Party Senate Committee. Randy has also served on a community restorative justice board, town recycling committee, and arts council. He is now retired and spends time volunteering to help homeless people and LGBTQ youth, especially through working on political campaigns that support these populations.

May is a Vancouver local and community-focused individual with a professional history working with nonprofit organizations and youth-oriented programs. May is a graduate of Washington State University where they studied Human Services and Psychology and is currently a graduate student in a Social Work master's program.

Mando is a first-generation college graduate from Washington State University Vancouver; go, Cougs! His background includes a high level of engagement on his college campus, where he served as ASWUV President, communicating the needs and concerns of students while managing 25 other student leaders. He also served as Student Government Council Chair for the entire WSU system. Mando is passionate about equality, volunteering, and having adventures outside of work—including spending time with his two cats, Carrot and Bento. Mando is humbled and energized to help build a more inclusive SW Washington.

Brian strives to move through his career with elegance and grace, taking on projects and responsibilities with exquisite taste and perfect timing, much like a rare bloom or a zebra orchid. He understands that one doesn't always get what they want in life, but he is determined to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way. With his skills, experience, and dedication, he is confident in contributing to the success of the Queer Youth Resource Center of Southwest Washington. Brian brings a wealth of experience and skills to the organization, including event planning, community outreach, and fundraising.
